Annual Scientific Meeting 2008
BURSARIES AND TRAVEL AWARDS
SAPC sail in SAPC is pleased to be able to fund:

  1. 30 bursaries of £100 for non-medical members to attend the Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) 9-11 July 2008. New members are welcome to apply. Applications are on a first-come-first-served basis.
  2. one travel award of £500 for a presenter at SAPC’s ASM to attend the 36th NAPCRG Annual Meeting
    November 15-19, 2008, Wyndham Rio Del Mar Beach Resort & Spa, Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.

  3. one travel award for a member from Europe to present at SAPC’s ASM

  • a limited number of student registration places at £125

    1. BURSARIES to attend ASM 2008
    SAPC is pleased to be able to offer 30 bursaries of £100 each to delegates registering for the Annual Scientific Meeting from 9 to 11 July 2008 in Galway, Ireland.

    You may apply if you fulfil all of the following criteria:

    • You are a non-medical member of SAPC
    • You have not attended an ASM before
    • You are below senior lecturer/senior research fellow level

    How to apply
    Please email your request and include your name, job title, organisation and address. Requests will be handled on a first come first served basis of receipt. In the event of bursaries being oversubscribed we may restrict the awards to one bursary per department or organisational unit.
    2. TRAVEL AWARD to attend NAPCRG 2008

    One travel award of £500, free registration and an oral presentation slot is available to the winner of this award to attend the NAPCRG (North American Primary Care Group) annual meeting October 2008.


    Applicants will be asked to submit a full transcript of the paper they will present at the SAPC ASM by mid June for the consideration of the judges. Shortlisted presentations will then be judged at the SAPC ASM 2008. The winning presentation will be given a slot to present the work at the NAPCRG annual meeting programme.

    Your application will be considered if:

    • Your abstract is accepted for oral presentation at the SAPC ASM 2008 9-11July, Galway, Ireland
    • You are at research fellow, lecturer or senior lecturer level (and not a professor)
    • You submit a full transcript by mid-June 08 (deadline to be advised)

    Please tick the box in the on-line abstract submission form when submitting your abstract form to the SAPC ASM 2008.

    3. TRAVEL AWARD FOR ONE EUROPEAN MEMBER TO ATTEND SAPC’S ASM

    Travel and student accommodation at ASM 08 will be covered and free registration will be awarded. Applicants must be a member of SAPC, living outside the UK and Ireland and must not be a professor. New members are welcome to apply.

    The winner will be the presenter of the highest scoring abstract (of those submitted by European members) accepted for oral presentation.
