    Conference sessions will take place at the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUI Galway). The new Arts Millenium Building will form the hub of the conference sessions. The opening and plenary sessions will be held in the O’Flaherty Theatre on the Concourse. The location of the buildings in use during the ASM can be found in the campus map in the location section below.

    Registration will take place in the Arts Millennium Building from 10.30 on Wednesday 9th July.

    Direct flights are available from the UK to Galway with Aer Arann and Flybe.

    From Galway airport to the City
    Galway airport is located 6km to the east of the city centre. There is no public bus service from the airport to Galway city; taxis cost €20 approximately.

    To facilitate delegates, a courtesy bus will meet the Luton and Dublin flights on Wednesday 9th July (currently scheduled to arrive 0945/1120/1350 @ Nov 07) and transfer to hotels or conference venue. One courtesy bus will depart from NUI Galway to airport on Friday afternoon. At other times it will be necessary to take a taxi.

    When registering on-line for the conference please indicate your arrival and departure times. Confirmation of the courtesy coaches will be sent by email approximately 2 weeks before the conference.

    Ryanair flies from the UK to Shannon.

    Two coach operators run services from Shannon airport to Galway:
    • The national bus company, Bus Éireann, operates an hourly coach service from Shannon to Galway, departing at 5 minutes to the hour. The journey takes 1 hour 50 minutes.

    • City Link has five services daily and the journey takes 1 hour 15 minutes. http://www.citylink.ie/planyourjourney.htm.

    The bus terminals for both operators are located in Eyre Square which is approximately 15 minutes walk from NUI Galway; the Radisson Hotel is located less than five minutes from each terminal.

    Galway via Dublin airport www.dublinairport.com
    There are several daily flights from major UK airports to Dublin airport which connect with the 0900 and 1305 Aer Arann departures to Galway.

    Galway via Knock airport www.knockairport.com
    There is no direct public transport service from Knock airport. The conference will book transfers for delegates arriving via Knock but it may be necessasry to charge for this service if sponsorship is not found.

    Galway train station is located in the city centre, approximately 15 minutes walk from NUI Galway.
