GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION |

Presenters should submit their abstract on-line by clicking the button for either presentation or workshop forms above. The forms contain full instructions for abstract completion.
For panel submissions, four presentation abstracts should be submitted on-line and the overview form (downloadable in the forms section above) should be submitted by email.
Once you have submitted your abstract on-line you will receive an automatically generated receipt. If you do not receive a receipt within 24 hours please contact the Secretariat at office@sapc.ac.uk using SAPC 09 abstract query in the subject line.
Panels
This year sees the introduction to the SAPC ASM programme of participant defined panels. During the parallel oral sessions some of the sessions will be panels and the remainder will be consist of presentations selected by the programme committee from the general abstract submissions.
If you are not submitting your work as part of a panel please use the on-line presentation form for your work to be considered.
Panel abstracts will be considered automatically for parallel sessions if they are part of a panel that is not accepted. Please do not submit the same abstract twice.
Programme from submitted abstracts and panels
Abstracts are invited for consideration for inclusion in the oral parallel programme, posters (boards)) and workshop programme. Panels are invited for inclusion in the oral parallel programme. Abstracts from unsuccessful panels will be included automatically in the review process with the general submission of presentation abstracts. Workshop submissions should use the separate on-line workshop submission form.
Late breaking abstracts
A parallel session will be dedicated to work with late breaking results. Please submit your abstract by the 6th March (or 13th February if part of a panel). There is a “late breaking” tick box on the on-line submission form for work in this category. In the results section please indicate that “results are late breaking”. A final version must be submitted via email to office@sapc.ac.uk before 31st May 2009 with the abstract title clearly indicated.
Young or early careers prize
If you wish to be considered for this prize please tick the young researcher box in the on-line presentation abstract form. To qualify you must have less than three years (whole time equivalent) research experience since completion of your PhD.

Conditions for submission of presentation abstracts
• Work submitted must not have been published at the time of submission. The programme committee reserves the right to exclude such work.
• Registering to attend - if the presentation is accepted for oral or poster presentation one of the authors must register to attend the conference and present the work or withdraw the abstract. Unpresented posters will not be permitted.
Peer review
All abstracts will be reviewed by experienced or senior level personnel in academic primary care. Each abstract will receive marks from two reviewers. If there is a discrepancy in the scores a third review will be carried out by a member of the programme committee. Click here for more information about peer review.
In the event of an appeal the abstract will be reviewed by the chair of the peer review committee and the chair of the programme committee.

Notification
The presenting or submitting author will be notified of the status of abstracts after peer review by email at the beginning of May.
