Bursaries 2012

BURSARIES

SAPC is pleased to be able to fund 10 bursaries of £100 for non-medical members to attend the SAPC ASM 2012 in Glasgow.

You may apply if you fulfil all of the following criteria:

  • You are a non-medical member of SAPC
  • You have not attended an ASM before
  • You are below senior lecturer level
  • You are not registering at the student or AiT rate

How to apply

You may apply for a bursary to office@sapc.ac.uk. Requests will be handled on a first come first served basis of receipt. In the event of bursaries being oversubscribed we may restrict the awards to one bursary per department or organisational unit.

TRAVEL AWARD - SAPC/NAPCRG

The SAPC/NAPCRG travel award of £500 for one presenter at SAPC’s ASM to attend the annual meeting of NAPCRG, USA 2012. 

One travel award of £500, free registration and an oral presentation slot is available to the winner of this award to attend the NAPCRG (North American Primary Care Group) annual meeting from 1st to 5th December 2012, New Orleans, Louisana.

Your application will be considered if:

  • Your abstract is accepted for oral presentation (including panels) at the SAPC ASM 2012 3-4 October, SECC, Glasgow
  • You are at lecturer to senior lecturer level (not professor)
  • You submit a transcript of your presentation (powerpoint presentation and notes accepted) by mid July 2012.

Applicants will be asked to submit a transcript of the paper they will present at the SAPC ASM by mid July for the consideration of the judges. Presentations will be judged at the SAPC ASM 2012. The winning presentation will be given a slot in the NAPCRG annual meeting programme.

PRIZES

Prize for best presentation by a young or early career researcher

There will be a prize (value £100) for the best early-career researcher presentation. To qualify, the main author and presenter should have no more than three years (whole time equivalent) research experience. Shortlisting for the prize will be based on the quality of submitted abstracts, and shortlisted presentations will be judged by a panel of senior academics.

Poster prizes

Two prizes for best poster presentation will be awarded at the ASM – book tokens to the value of £75.
