Educational Research in Primary Care: adressing the challenges
In the January 2012 SAPC Hot Topics section of Primary Health Care Research and Development, Sophie Park and colleagues discuss the growing area of educational research in primary care.
Their article discusses the challenges to developing high quality collaborative research in primary care education. And introduces the innovative work of two new groups within SAPC established to tackle this area. The SAPC Special Interest Group on Educational Research aims to encourage and promote educational research; acting as a bridge between SAPC and the Association for the Study of Medical Education (ASME). The article also introduces the new doctoral student network in Education Research. And considers how both groups contribute to the SAPC goal to promote research and teaching excellence within primary care.
