Training

Academic GP training in the UK
An academic GP trainee is a junior doctor who wishes to become a fully qualified General Practitioner and who also has an interest in pursuing a career in primary care research and/or teaching. National academic GP training posts are funded under the “Walport” scheme with other other academic GP trainees who are locally funded (download a paper here for a description of the current situation)

If you are interested in contacting academic GP trainees please email Clare Taylor (clarejtaylor@doctors.org.uk) who is in the process of coordinating an informal network.

Early career researchers in academic primary care If you have any issues or concerns relating to early career researchers, please email office@sapc.ac.uk with subject line Early career research.
